Defensive Driving Requirements

Just imagine what it would feel like to stand in front of a judge and try to explain that you have completed your Texas defensive driving course on time but you have no proof. This is a situation some drivers find themselves in. To make sure this doesn't happen to you, your provider must deliver your Texas Defensive Driving certificate to you before you go to court.

"Title 5 of the Texas Education Code, Chapter 1001" allows the provider 21 calendar days after the student completes the course to mail the Texas defensive driving certificate to students.

In addition, "Title 5" also requires all Texas defensive driving certificates must be mailed to the student even if they attend a classroom.
